Mobile Assignment

April 10, 2012

STARS (stronger together against relationship and sexual violence) has teamed up with the LGBTQ Resource Center to talk about what it means for people in LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Tran-sexual, and Queer) community to have a healthy relationship. The STARS Speaks Series: Violence in LGBTQ Relationships open forum was Tuesday in the Women’s Center at the Student Center.

“It is important to have events on all relationships and provide awareness because not everyone is the same,” STARS President Riya Sohel said. “It’s a good way to be exposed to that insight.”

The event comes during “Pride Month,” where awareness for LGBTQ issues are highlighted. More events, including a parade, will be taking place throughout the month.
