Apple Wants To Release Online Radio Service

Earlier this week, Bloomberg reported that Apple wants to launch its own Internet radio service in 2013. According to the report, the service would be similar to Pandora.

According to Bloomberg, the service won’t rely on web-browsers and will be an app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

This is big news for many bands and artists because many people use online radio to listen to music. According to stateofthemedia.org, in 2011, 56 percent of Americans over the age of 12 used online radio. And according to the same article, the amount of people using a cell phone in a car to listen to online radio has risen from 6 percent in 2010, to 11 percent in 2011.
