Top Rock Singles Of 2012

January 26, 2013

I want to make it clear that this list isn’t necessarily the best songs. The criteria for this was that the song had to have been released as a single, and the album it was released on had to come out in 2012. That means a bunch of The Black Keys singles are ineligible because El Camino came out in 2011.  Also, if the album came out in 2012, the single had to have come out in 2012 as well. Which means “Younger Us” by Japandroids is not eligible because it came out in 2010. There were a lot of great songs that came out in 2012 that could have beaten out some of the songs on this list, but there are so many songs, we had to limit it to just singles to make it fair. With that being said, these songs were ranked on how I saw the song’s musical quality, not as how it worked as just a single. Also, I want to point out that this is my list. You don’t have to agree with it, but understand this was taken from my point of view.

We decided to pick 8 songs because it’s a weird number, and this is a kind of a weird list.

  4. Let Yourself Go”- Green Day
  5. The House That Heaven Built”- Japandroids
